The Friends of Detroit Rowing (FoDR) was organized
in 1973 at the Detroit Boat Club as a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to
the education of people about the sport
of rowing in the Detroit metropolitan area
and to sponsor elite rowing competition.
Friends of Detroit Rowing and the
Detroit Boat Club are unique and
separate organizations and share
no legal connection. Club
memberships are not shared and
there are no financial or other
organizational connections
between FODR and DBC. The
Detroit Boat Club is a social
and boating club which supports
DBC rowing by authorizing the
continued use of the Detroit
Boat Club name and burgee by
FODR when FODR members and FODR-sponsored
crews are involved in rowing
competitions. |
