On March 12, 2010 we will be hosting our annual Auction at the Detroit Yacht Club. As you know, this important event helps us to fund the programs that have given so many of our junior and collegiate rowers opportunities to attend colleges around the US, many on partial or full scholarships, as well as compete against some the best rowers in the world at the international level. Last year alone we had rowers competing in the Under-23 and Junior World championships, as well as taking first place in the Women’s Junior Double at the Head of the Charles Regatta. In addition, our adult learn-to-row, youth summer learn-to-row, recreational rowing, and indoor rowing and yoga programs continue to introduce new athletes to the sport of rowing.

This year’s fundraiser is a silent auction to be held at the Detroit Yacht Club on March 12th. Located on the northern end of Belle Isle, this magnificent Spanish tiled building will remind more than a few of the alumni rowers and friends of Spring nights gone by that were spent at the Boat Club down the way.

A fun-filled night is planned of food, drink and the opportunity to meet and socialize with the other members of the rowing community. We could not do this without your generous support. We hope you will plan to join us this year in support of our rowers in their quest for Gold in 2010.
