Detroit Boat Club Crew
Founded in 1839, The Detroit Boat Club Crew is the oldest rowing club in North America. Its mission is dedicated to the education and promotion of rowing throughout Metro Detroit.
Sponsored by Friends of Detroit Rowing, a 501c3 organization, the Detroit Boat Club Crew provides competitive and recreational programs for men and women of all ages and abilities, as well as training opportunities for rowers competing on national, international, and Olympic levels.
Rowing and COVID19
As we return to the water in small boats, the DBCC is closely following the COVID-19 guidelines established by both the State of Michigan and USRowing. Additional daily protocols will include:
All rowers will be subject to daily temperature check before entering the boathouse.
Equipment, including oars and most boats, will be stored outdoors to minimize or eliminate time inside the boathouse.
Rowers will wipe down oars and equipment with available disinfectant wipes before and after use.
Masks must be worn by coaches and rowers at all times in the boathouse. Masks are optional for the rowers once on the water.
Scheduling of programs has been staggered to reduce contacts between participants in other programs.
